Latest Episode:Tuning: An Introduction

Classical Nerd began in 2016 to provide accessible, entertaining music education on YouTube. Since then, the channel has grown in scope, scale, and production value to 268 episodes, over 60,000 subscribers, and over 4,000,000 cumulative views.

My work as an “evangelist for music” has a substantial following among educators across all age ranges around the world, from primary schools to universities to theological seminaries to OLLI.

The channel’s content is directed by viewer requests, and funded via Patreon. Throughout the 2023–24 academic year, a series of Classical Nerd episodes documenting the evolution of American music have been funded by a Public Humanities Grant from Humanities NY.
